Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services is seeking a senior systems engineer with automotive ECU expertise to analyze complex problems and design automated solutions. You will capture requirements from stakeholders, define system architecture, and ensure CAN/J1939 compliance through testing.

You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor colleagues, and drive best practices in agile environments while delivering high-quality system specifications and reliable automotive solutions.

Qualifications

• Expertise in system engineering for truck/automotive ECUs (CAN/J1939).
• Experience capturing requirements from stakeholders for complex systems.
• Strong knowledge of system architecture and software requirements.
• Testing and validation of automated systems in automotive domains.

Job Description

• Analyzes complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements.
• Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
• Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues
• Requires specialized comprehensive knowledge in commercial vehicle diagnostics and SAE standard CAN communication protocols, with depth and/or breadth of expertise.
• Solves complex issues and problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions and using applicable functional knowledge and existing methodologies.
• Exercises judgment in selecting best methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends solutions/best practices.
• Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects; adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
• Is recognized as an expert in own area within own discipline/function within the organization. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
• Serves as a resource for best practices/quality on functional teams or projects.
• Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.
• Trains, guides and mentors other professionals or colleagues with less experience.
