Role Overview:

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both Windows and Linux operating systems. The role requires advanced expertise in managing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments and the administration of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) automation. The Senior System Administrator will work closely with various IT teams to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core organizational functions.

This job requires Top Secret Security Clearance and onsite support in McKinney, TX or Tucson, AZ. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

What You Will Do:

  • Support a highly virtualized platform, with both Linux and Window OS.
  • Support of IaaS and PaaS environments.
  • Maintain CDS systems in accordance with security requirements, system lifecycles, and standard architectures.
  • Support CDS services within assigned technology discipline across all security domains and IT environments as required.
  • Provide timely and effective customer support for service requests and incidents.
  • Support the transition and release of newly developed CDS services.

Expectations of the role:

  • Work collaboratively across CDS Infrastructure services teams to provide seamless and efficient operations/support of CDS services.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and service maturity initiatives led by the Service Management and Business Management teams.
  • Maintain required professional certifications (e.g. Security+, CISSP) required to maintain system access and satisfy relevant compliance requirements.
  • Engage in continuous learning to maintain relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities required to support modern technologies in assigned work area.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 8 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 5 years experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
