Overview

Senior System Administrator (Onsite) role at Collins Aerospace. This position is onsite in Sterling, VA. Location: HVA34: Sterling, VA 22640 Davis Dr, Sterling, VA, 20164-7104 USA.

Role Type: Onsite

Security clearance: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. DoD Secret clearance is required; Top Secret clearance is noted as required by day one in the posting.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with partners to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions consisting of hardware and operating system technologies.
Integrate and partner with programs to solve complex infrastructure problems.
Assure a high level of reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management.
Ensure server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (DFARS, RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
Install, Convert, and upgrade systems.
Develop, revise, and maintain technical and operational documentation (including procedures) to continually improve our computing environment.
Assist in developing the overall performance and capability of your technical team through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Ensuring that all the Information Assurance IA software security patches and version and virus signature file updates are up to date.
Maintenance of system and data security processes and applications such as virus scanning, auditing, collection of audit logs, system scripts and data collections scripts.
Assisting in development and updating system administration procedures.
Supporting Disaster Recovery and incident response exercises as required.
Updating network diagrams following integration of approved system configuration changes.
Please note that an active U.S. Dept. of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance is required as of day one of employment.

Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Must possess an active US DoD Secret Security Clearance
4+ years total experience in administration of Windows operating systems, including Windows 11, 10, Server 2016, 2019, 2022.
Red Hat knowledge.
4+ years total professional experience working in IT.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
Security+ certification (DoD 8570 IAT2 or higher).
Strong troubleshooting skill.
