Job summary

Intec Select is helping an established insurance firm in Houston, TX hire a Senior Systems Administrator to join its IT team. The role centers on enterprise infrastructure across Windows servers, Active Directory, Exchange, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), storage, backup and automation.

You will be the senior escalation point, own infrastructure stability, disaster recovery and service improvements, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with third‑party vendors.

Qualifications

• 3rd-line / senior systems administration experience.
• Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, including Windows Servers, Active Directory and Exchange.
• Hands-on experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Experience with storage and backup technologies.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working with third-party vendors.
• Proactive approach to infrastructure improvement and automation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with IT teams.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

Senior Systems Administrator | Houston, TX | Insurance | Up to $130,000 Base + Bonus

An established insurance firm based in Houston, Texas is looking to hire a Senior Systems Administrator to join its internal IT team.

This is a senior-level infrastructure position within a technically diverse environment, supporting critical enterprise systems across virtualisation, Windows infrastructure, storage, backup and automation.

The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point while taking ownership of infrastructure stability, service improvements, disaster recovery and ongoing operational support.

The Role

• Support and maintain enterprise infrastructure and systems
• Perform scheduled system checks and proactive maintenance

Package & Working Arrangement

• Salary: Up to $130,000 base
