Cognizant seeks a Senior SYNON/AS400 Developer to design, develop, and support business-critical applications in an AS400 environment. You will collaborate with analysts, technical leads, QA, and stakeholders across the software lifecycle to deliver high-quality solutions.

This remote role is open to qualified applicants in Richardson, TX, or other US locations with flexible work arrangements. Expertise in RPGLE, RPGILE, CLLE, and SYNON is required to ensure robust, post-deployment support.

About the role

As a Senior SYNON/AS400 Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting business-critical applications in an AS400 environment. You will be a valued member of the technology team, collaborating with business analysts, technical leads, quality assurance teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions throughout the software development lifecycle.

In this role, you will:

• Partner with business analysts and technical leads to clarify requirements and define technical solutions.
• Analyze business needs and prepare technical designs, estimates, and development plans.
• Develop, review, and enhance applications using AS400 technologies including RPGLE, RPGILE, CLLE, and SYNON.
• Create and execute unit test plans, resolve defects, and support quality assurance and regression testing activities.
• Support deployments, production releases, and post-implementation activities to ensure stable and successful solution delivery.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
