Job summary

You will assess animal health, participate in vaccination and treatment administration, and help coordinate breeding and movement of sows and gilts while documenting activities with a PDA or computer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine, agricultural sciences, biology, engineering, or an animal-based agriculture-related field.
• At least 1 year of experience as an animal scientist, farmworker, or related position including 1 year experience working with commercial swine or cattle operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement improved feeding, housing, sanitation, and disease control practices for pigs, sows, or gilts.
• Independently oversee feeding, watering, and ventilation systems and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Assess animal health, participate in treatment and vaccination administration, and track sow/gilt activity.
