Job summary

The Walt Disney Company’s Disney Media Player Engineering team seeks a Senior Product Software Engineer to design a feature-rich streaming playback library for Apple devices. You will help build a layered architecture that can span Disney+ and other brands, ensuring a consistent, best-in-class playback experience.

As a hands-on engineer in Objective-C/Swift, you’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and content creators to deliver scalable media playback across Disney

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of iOS software development experience.
• 3+ years using Swift.
• 5+ years building complex UIs with UIKit or SwiftUI.
• 3+ years in agile processes.
• Experience across the full software lifecycle.
• Understanding MVC or MVVM trade-offs.
• OO and Reactive programming knowledge.
• iOS/TVOS lifecycle experience.
• Unit testing and CI familiarity.
• Strong communication and self-starter mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features collaborating with Disney media services and back-ends.
• Collaborate on API design with API Services and front-end teams.
• Research and develop media playback experiences and testing.
• Participate in project estimation and planning.
• Work in a small team and in the larger organization.
• Troubleshoot issues across platforms.
• Specialize in Apple technologies (UIKit, SwiftUI, AVKit, StoreKit) to build world-class apps.
