Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Survey Project Manager to oversee land surveying programs, ensuring compliance, budgets, and quality deliverables.

You will mentor field crews and project managers, develop proposals, and drive QA/QC while coordinating with clients and stakeholders to meet project milestones. The ideal candidate is a Texas-registered PLS with 12+ years of surveying experience and at least 5 years in leadership, ready to work a Monday–Friday schedule

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Texas.
• Minimum 12 years of land surveying experience.
• At least 5 years in supervisory or lead roles.
• Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and client expectations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the work of the local survey department.
• Provide guidance to Survey Technicians, Field Crews, and Project Managers.
• Ensure compliance with state regulatory rules governing professional land surveying.
• Develop and review project proposals, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
• Manage project budgets, invoicing, and financial performance for large-scale or complex projects.
• Perform advanced quality control reviews of drawings, legal descriptions, and other deliverables.
• Lead the development and implementation of corporate QA/QC guidelines and principles.
• Manage, train, and mentor members of the Survey Department, focusing on career development.
• Lead initiatives to identify and implement innovative processes, tools, and technologies.
• Resolve survey issues or challenges with expert-level solutions and recommendations.
