Job summary

Pennoni in Virginia Beach is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead our field surveying operations in the Hampton Roads area. You’ll be responsible for the daily operation of a survey crew on land surveying projects including geodetic, boundary, topographic, and construction staking.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent math skills, and the ability to manage field staff and coordinate layouts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 8–12 years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Able to perform field work which may include heavy manual labor.
• Strong math skills and ability to read plans.

Required Experience

• High School Diploma
• Minimum years of experience: 8-12 years with a concentration in commercial construction.
• Capable of field work which may include heavy manual labor
• Logical mindset
• Adaptive understanding of problems
• Experienced in field staff management
• Solid math skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienced in Excel spreadsheets and computers
• Experienced in modern survey technology and equipment
• Looking for growth in professional career
• Knows some AutoCAD

TARGET SALARY RANGE: $62,400 - $90,000 (per year) or $30-$45 per hour based on experience
