Job summary

Pennoni is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our field surveying operations in the Hampton Roads, VA area. You will be responsible for the daily operation of a survey crew on land surveying projects including geodetic, boundary, topographic, and construction staking.

You will manage field crews, coordinate field layouts, QA/QC site control, read construction plans, and oversee field data transfer and instrument operation.

Qualifications

• Must have 8–12 years of experience with a concentration in commercial construction.
• Strong math skills and ability to perform field work including heavy manual labor.
• Experience managing field staff and coordinating survey crews.

Required experience:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum years of experience: 8-12 years with a concentration in commercial construction.
• Capable of field work which may include heavy manual labor
• Logical mindset
• Adaptive understanding of problems
• Experienced in field staff management
• Solid math skills

• Experienced in Excel spreadsheets and computers
• Experienced in modern survey technology and equipment
• Looking for growth in professional career
• Knows some AutoCAD

TARGET SALARY RANGE: $62,400 - $90,000 (per year) or $30-$45 per hour based on experience
