Job summary

Qualifications

• Required technical degree or diploma in Surgical Technology.
• Preferred associate degree in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties to assist physician/surgeon during complex procedures.
• Makes instruments available in proper position and hands instruments to the surgeon as needed.
• Assists the circulator with room preparation based on patient assignment and physician preference card.
• Helps perform surgical counts according to policy and procedure.
• Prepares sutures and dressings for surgeon use.
• Maintains a sterile field for surgical services.
• Demonstrates initiative in continuing education and professional development.
• Mentors and precepts new surgical techs and supports department goals.
