Qualifications

• Technical degree or diploma in Surgical Technology required
• Associates degree preferred in Surgical Technology
• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist by NBSTA required
• TS-C preferred by NCCT knowledge, skills and abilities

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties to assist physician during complex surgical procedures
• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgeon as needed
• Prepares room based on patient assignment using physician preference card
• Assists with surgical counts following policy and procedure
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique
• Demonstrates initiative in professional development and continuing education
• Mentors and supports new surgical techs and trainees
• Ensures competency across multiple surgical specialties
