Orlando Health is seeking a Surgical Tech III for the OHJOI Surgery Department in Orlando, FL. This full-time position requires advanced technique in sterile processing and specialty instrumentation, supporting multiple procedures.

The role emphasizes scrub duties, instrument handling, and collaborative practice with nurses and surgeons to ensure efficient, safe patient care across at least two specialty services.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technology training program or Orlando Health training program.
• Four (4) year surgical tech experience; CST and two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsabilités

• Maintain an orderly surgical field and pass instruments swiftly to the surgeon.
• Anticipate and prioritize procedure needs.
• Participate in sponge, needle and instrument counts.
• Maintain surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assist in ordering and stocking specialty supplies.
• Serve as a technical SME for at least one tertiary specialty with a Registered Nurse.
• Provide scrub services for major procedures in at least 2 surgical specialties.
• Prepare and conduct training related to specialty service.
• Act as a preceptor to perioperative personnel rotating through scrub roles.
• Collaborate with surgeons to address case needs and workflow improvements.
• Transport items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility.
