Medivis, Inc. is building a robotic arm integrated into its surgical navigation platform in New York. The role focuses on autonomous and supervised robotic positioning within a navigation loop that already tracks tools, patient anatomy, and surgical plans.

You will design the control stack, kinodynamic planning, and safety features, while coordinating with surgeons and regulatory teams to ensure safe, traceable deployment.

Qualifikationen

• Six or more years building real robots that ship.
• Experience with manipulators, surgical or medical robots, or safety-critical systems.
• Ability to design controls, hazard analysis and traceability in line with medical device practices.

Aufgaben

• Design and implement the control stack for a collaborative robotic arm in the navigation loop.
• Integrate the arm with optical tracking and patient registration within the navigation frame.
• Build the safety layer: virtual fixtures, workspace constraints and force thresholds; enable surgeon takeover.
• Define done criteria per skill with bench/phantom tests and evidence requirements.
• Collaborate with surgeons in lab and cadaver suite to derive system requirements.
• Lay groundwork for the regulatory path with design controls and traceability.
