Job summary

Medtronic in Colorado seeks a seasoned supply chain planner to lead planning for Core Surgical products, develop capacity strategies, and align forecasts with planning and contract manufacturing teams for SIOP and KPI targets.

Responsibilities include creating the Master Production Schedule, driving IBP/S&OE cycles, maintaining master data, and improving cross‑functional communication to ensure on‑time launches and optimal inventory levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of supply chain planning experience, or 2+ years with advanced degree.
  • Experience with ERP systems in planning (MRP).
  • Strong analytics and statistical skills.
  • Experience in purchasing, forecasting, and supplier management.
  • PM/leadership experience and teamwork.
  • Experience with MS Office and data tools.
  • APICS CPIM certification.
  • PMP certification.
  • Six Sigma/Lean knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage supply for Core Surgical products and ensure availability.
  • Meet inventory targets and support flawless product launches.
  • Develop and implement long‑term supply chain strategies and capacity plans.
  • Lead monthly IBP/S&OE cycles and scenario planning.
  • Identify exceptions and propose actionable scenarios and solutions.
  • Clean and maintain master data; govern standards.
  • Create Master Production Schedule (MPS).
  • Collaborate with planning and contract manufacturing on monthly planning handshakes and reviews.
  • Manage KPIs: service levels, net requirements, inventory, and backorders.
  • Liaise with regions and cross‑functional teams to improve processes.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently managing supply for Medtronic’s Core Surgical products
  • Ensuring product availability while meeting inventory targets and ensuring flawless launch of new products
  • Analyze, develop, and implement long‑term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals
  • Actively lead and participate in monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and S&OE cycle managing long‑term rough‑cut capacity views and short‑term planning with scenario planning
  • Identify and elevate exceptions for consideration with the suggestion of possible scenarios and solutions
  • Complete master data cleanup, planning system maintenance, optimization & governance of standards
  • Create Master Production Schedule
  • Collaborate with Medtronic Planning and Contract Manufacturing teams – Monthly Planning Handshake/SIOP, forecast & capacity review, Monthly and Quarterly Operation Reviews
  • Effectively manage the supply chain to meet and exceed KPI’s relating to service levels, net requirement attainment, inventory levels/inventory weeks, and backorder dollars
  • Liaise with regions, DRP teams, Customer Operations, Contract Manufacturing, Sourcing, Marketing, and Distribution to improve overall communication and process flows
  • Ownership for documentation and ensuring it is up to date, deployed, and the single source of truth
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant supply chain planning experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant supply chain planning experience
  • Experience employing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in supply chain activities, including using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) (ie. Blue Yonder, SAP)
  • Excellent analytics/statistical skills demonstrated through education or professional background
  • Experience with purchasing, forecasting and supplier management
  • Experience in managing projects and working in teams
  • Experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office
  • Master’s Degree
  • APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • Six Sigma, Lean and DMAIC expertise
  • Familiar with working in an ISO 13485 and FDA regulated environment
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
