Job Title: Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview

Moog Military Aircraft Group is the worldwide leader in advanced flight controls and actuation for military aircraft. We are present on virtually every aircraft flying today, providing highly reliable, supportable systems that add significant value for our customers.

The Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, onboarding, and growth of suppliers as Moog increases its external procurement. The role involves ensuring stable and capable manufacturing processes are in place to meet customer demand, influencing design at the concept stage, assessing and selecting suppliers, and managing manufacturing processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support manufacturing of complex machining, gear, and motor components within the supply base.
  • Conduct risk assessments for parts and review manufacturing processes for compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with design and manufacturing teams to communicate design intent and process requirements.
  • Review and assess suppliers' manufacturing capabilities and assist in resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Participate in design reviews to identify manufacturing concerns and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct FMEA activities, Gage R&R, and process capability analyses.
  • Engage in the Moog Zero Defect journey, utilizing AS9145 concepts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related field; experience in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with expertise in complex machined parts and gears.
  • Technical knowledge in metallurgy, metrology, electrical motor assemblies, and GD&T.
  • Experience with supplier improvement, data-driven decision-making, and core defect prevention tools.
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards such as AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with NPI processes (APQP, PPAP).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is desirable.
Additional Details
  • Travel requirement: approximately 25%.
  • Salary range: $100,000 - $145,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
