Job summary

Elbit America is seeking a Supplier Quality Special Process Engineer to safeguard product integrity and regulatory compliance across the supply chain. You will qualify, audit, and continuously improve supplier special process capabilities in welding, heat treating, plating, painting, and NDT/NDE within aerospace and defense manufacturing.

You will lead cross-functional audits, review Process Control Plans and FMEAs, and drive CAPA activities while supporting NPI programs and ensuring alignment

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, Industrial, Welding, or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years of progressive experience in supplier quality or related fields in regulated manufacturing.
• Hands-on knowledge of welding, heat treating, plating, painting, or NDT/NDE processes.
• Experience conducting formal supplier audits, assessments, and CAPA follow-through.
• Familiarity with AS9100, AC7004, or ISO 9001 and related quality tools.
• Strong communication skills with ability to influence without direct authority.
• Willingness to travel up to 30–50% for supplier visits and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification and approval for welding, brazing, heat treating, plating, painting, and NDT/NDE.
• Conduct on-site supplier audits, assess process controls, calibration, and personnel certifications.
• Review and approve Process Control Plans, FMEAs, and related work instructions.
• Issue SCARs and drive root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Collaborate with engineering to update specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
• Support NPI by qualifying special process suppliers early in development.
