Job summary

Elbit America seeks an experienced Supplier Quality Special Process Engineer to lead supplier qualification for welding, brazing, heat treating, plating, painting, and NDT/NDE within a defense/aerospace environment.

You will audit suppliers, review Process Control Plans, CAPAs, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring NADCAP, AS9100, ISO 9001 compliance and robust supplier performance metrics across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Industrial, Welding, or closely related field; Master’s degree +7 years or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience: 9+ years in supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering in regulated/high-consequence manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification and approval activities for special processes (welding, brazing, heat treating, plating, painting, NDT/NDE).
• Conduct on-site supplier audits and assessments, documenting findings and tracking corrective actions.
• Review and approve supplier Process Control Plans, Control Plans, FMEAs, and related work instructions.
• Issue SCARs and drive root-cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to update special process specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics (PPM, OTD) and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with NADCAP, AS9100, ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
• Support NPI by engaging suppliers early in development.
• Maintain documentation for supplier approvals, audits, and certifications.
