Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality efforts across a complex supply chain in North Reading, MA. You will partner with design, product development, and manufacturing to ensure robust supplier processes and quality systems.

The role emphasizes improving product qualification, controlling costs, and reducing field defects while driving CAPAs and design changes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• 2+ years in Supplier Quality.
• BS Degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with quality concepts/tools such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA.
• Experience implementing quality engineering principles through development and NPI programs.
• Functional knowledge of ISO9001 or AS9100.

Responsibilities

• Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.
• Develop supplier quality engagement strategies from product development through sustaining operations.
• Develop strategy and support supplier product qualification best practices.
• Active engagement in the Product Development Process (PDP).
• Develop/review/approve qualification documents (PFMEAs, Control Plans, DFM).
• Support hardware development and implementation processes to reduce cost and risk.
• Scale supplier process and quality systems to reduce observed field defect rates.
• Lead Surveillance and Process Audits to ensure adherence to specification and identify improvements.
• Drive CAPAs, improvement, and design change opportunities.
• Solve/prevent technical product and process problems across manufacturing commodities.
• Identify failure trends and drive investigation, failure analysis, and remediation.
• Coordinate supplier change requests.
• Define and implement Supplier selection, approval, and development processes.
• Conduct pre-business award Scalability Assessments and sourcing initiatives.
• Guide/drive best practice supplier management activities.
