Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive the supplier base toward operational excellence, ensuring PPAP compliance and leading corrective actions in collaboration with Procurement.

The role also includes supervising Engineering Technicians, conducting supplier audits, and guiding Kaizen improvements to strengthen manufacturing quality across our sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering (preferred).
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership in managing quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Approval & Compliance: Ensure all components meet design specs via PPAP and approve/reject based on production impact.
• Issue Resolution: Provide rapid diagnostics for assembly line issues and manage 8D reports and Containment processes.
• Supplier Auditing: Create and execute audits based on supplier performance and component criticality.
• Operational Finance: Manage RMA procedures with SOX compliance for quarantined or rejected materials.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify quality improvements and lead Kaizen initiatives.
• Leadership: Supervise Engineer Technicians and provide direction on corrective actions.
