Job summary

Programmers.io in San Jose, CA seeks a seasoned Quality Engineer to drive quality systems for compute/server hardware manufacturing. You will partner with operations and engineering to define SOPs, PCNs, and work instructions, ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and ANSI/ESD standards.

Candidates should have 3–5+ years in quality engineering, experience with contract manufacturers, and strong root-cause analysis methods (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys).

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering or equivalent through experience.
• 3-5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in Compute system/ Server/Consumer Electronics /Hardware manufacturing.
• Experience with manufacturing Quality audits, Quality KPIs management.
• 5+ years of experience with problem solving methodologies (Ishikawa, FMEA, SCAR, 5 Why, 8D, Pareto, MIL ) and Root Cause Failure Analysis, Fault Isolation of complex hardware systems.
• Experience with ESD standards (ANSI S20.20), ISO9001 certification, Quality Management System process compliance.
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration on defining quality SOPs, PCNs, Work Instructions etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations and engineering), representing the Quality function.
• ASQ CQE certification, Six Sigma preferred.
• Basic Project Management skills required.
• Proficiency with Office tools and common data analysis tools (JMP, R, Excel,...).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English); ability to concisely report to cross-functional team and management.
