Job summary

Allison Transmission seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to drive supplier quality across the supply base, leading cross‑functional initiatives for new suppliers, products, and process changes.

The role blends advanced quality engineering with program management, partnering with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to reduce defects, accelerate time‑to‑market, and deliver total cost of ownership improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical) or related field; Master’s preferred.
Extensive experience in APQP/PPAP and advanced quality tools with ISO/IATF knowledge.
Proven program management skills for cross‑functional, multi‑site initiatives.

Responsibilities

Assess and approve new suppliers; conduct capability studies and audits.
Lead APQP deliverables with suppliers and manage PPAP submissions.
Establish SPC, CTQs, and sampling plans; coach on DOE and Poka‑Yoke.
Coordinate corrective actions (8D) and supplier containment; verify effectiveness.
Drive supplier readiness for launches; manage RAID logs and gates.
Communicate risks and tradeoffs to leadership; collaborate across functions.
