This role serves as a key quality leader responsible for supplier quality strategy, supplier development, risk management, and continuous improvement across the supply chain. The successful candidate will work independently to manage complex supplier quality challenges, drive supplier performance improvements, lead supplier quality initiatives, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and industry requirements. This position requires the individual to work onsite at the Littleton, Colorado facility five days per week.

What You Will Do
Travel
- This position requires approximately 25% domestic and international travel to supplier locations and company sites.
Supplier Evaluation and Qualification
- Lead qualification and approval of new suppliers, including critical and high-risk suppliers.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of supplier capabilities, quality systems, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and Regulatory teams to establish and maintain an approved supplier network.
- Drive supplier corrective actions and improvement plans to address nonconformities and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Serve as the primary quality representative during supplier selection, onboarding, and qualification activities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced quality personnel on supplier quality processes and best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze supplier performance metrics, scorecards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead supplier business reviews and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
- Conduct supplier audits to evaluate compliance with quality management systems, industry standards, customer requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Analyze supplier quality data and trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Escalate significant supplier quality concerns and risks to management while driving timely resolution.
Supplier Development and Collaboration
- Lead supplier development initiatives focused on improving quality, delivery performance, process capability, and overall supplier effectiveness.
- Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to strengthen quality systems, manufacturing processes, and operational controls.
- Facilitate root cause investigations and corrective action activities with suppliers using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Foster collaborative relationships with suppliers through effective communication, partnership, and joint continuous improvement efforts.
- Drive sustainable quality improvements through supplier engagement, monitoring, and performance management.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure suppliers comply with applicable regulatory, customer, and industry requirements, including ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR), AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards.
- Review and approve supplier‑related documentation including quality agreements, qualification records, audit reports, supplier change notifications, deviation requests, and corrective action plans.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure supplier‑related activities are appropriately documented and maintained within the Quality Management System.
- Monitor changes to relevant regulations and standards and provide guidance regarding supplier compliance obligations.
- Lead supplier risk assessments and business continuity evaluations.
- Identify and assess risks associated with suppliers, materials, components, and special processes.
- Develop and implement supplier quality risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Make recommendations regarding supplier approval, probation, escalation, or disqualification based on performance and risk.
- Participate in cross‑functional investigations and risk management activities to resolve supplier‑related quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality, or a related quality engineering discipline.
- Experience within regulated industries such as medical device, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing preferred.
- Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits and managing Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
- Demonstrated experience leading supplier qualification, supplier monitoring, supplier development, and supplier performance improvement activities.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and applicable regulations, including ISO 13485, FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR), AS9100, and ISO 9001.
- Experience applying risk‑based approaches and quality tools such as FMEA, 5‑Why, Fishbone, 8D, Control Plans, SPC, and CAPA methodologies.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as additive manufacturing, machining, special processes, coatings, heat treatment, inspection, and related production operations preferred.
- Proven ability to investigate complex supplier quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across global cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve quality and business objectives.
- This position serves the Quality Engineering Group, which includes the need to work on export‑controlled products from aerospace and defense customers.
- Ability travel domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time.
- Ability work onsite in Littleton, Colorado five days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP), Lead Auditor certification, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience supporting both medical device and aerospace quality management systems.
- Experience working with global suppliers and international supply chains.
- Experience with additive manufacturing technologies and related manufacturing processes.
