Job description

Hamilton Medical was founded with a vision: To develop intelligent ventilation solutions that make life safer for patients in critical care and easier for the people who care for them. Today, Hamilton Medical is a leading manufacturer of critical care ventilation solutions for a wide variety of patient populations, applications, and environments.

Hamilton Medical, Inc. is seeking a Senior Sourcing Development Specialist to own the strategic sourcing pipeline for ventilators, consumables, accessories, and raw materials. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of supply chain strategy, supplier development, and cross-functional execution. The ideal candidate is analytically driven and proactive—able to independently identify supply chain risk, qualify new and alternative suppliers, negotiate contracts, and hold suppliers accountable to project timelines. Core responsibilities include end-to-end supplier development (onboarding, scorecards, corrective action), BOM risk analysis, second-source qualification, and close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Sr. Buyers, and Supply Chain specialists at Hamilton Medical AG in Switzerland.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own the sourcing project pipeline across ventilators, consumables, accessories, and raw materials—managing timelines, supplier engagement, and cross-functional milestones to convert identified opportunities into realized outcomes.
  • Conduct comprehensive BOM audits to identify single-source dependencies, qualification gaps, and supply exposure; drive second-source qualification to eliminate risk and ensure production continuity on critical part numbers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new and alternative suppliers—leading a structured comparison of candidates across pricing, quality systems, lead times, capacity, and risk profile to select the best-fit supplier for each sourcing need.
  • Negotiate new vendor contracts—securing competitive pricing, favorable terms, and service level commitments that deliver long-term value while protecting supply continuity.
  • Own supplier performance management—develop and maintain scorecards, define escalation triggers, and drive corrective action follow-through to maintain a high-performing, resilient supply base.
  • Lead supplier-facing project coordination—run meetings, set clear timeline expectations, and hold suppliers accountable to milestone commitments to keep sourcing projects on track.
  • Partner with Sr. Buyers to plan supplier ramp-up and ramp-down schedules—coordinating transition timing, sequencing cutover milestones, and supporting product line transfers to minimize disruption to procurement and production.
  • Partner with Engineering on vendor requirements, design transfer activities, and DFM reviews to ensure sourcing strategy aligns to technical specifications and qualification standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure new and alternative suppliers meet regulatory, compliance, and QMS/ISO standards as part of the qualification process.
  • Serve as the procurement liaison during vendor audits; drive commercial resolution when disqualification events occur and source replacement vendors as needed.
  • Proactively monitor and escalation supply risk to management with data-backed recommendations; anticipate disruptions before they impact production schedules.
  • Represent the sourcing function in cross-functional forums with Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service; collaborate with Supply Chain specialists at Hamilton Medical AG in Switzerland to align on global sourcing strategy and supplier standards.
  • Travel as needed to conduct on-site supplier evaluations—assessing capabilities, facilities, quality systems, and operational readiness prior to qualification decisions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes, tools, and supplier management frameworks across the department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present supply risk data to leadership.
  • Strong negotiation skills—demonstrated ability to drive competitive pricing, favorable contract terms, and conduct structured multi-supplier evaluations to make well-supported sourcing decisions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for BOM analysis, supplier scorecards, and risk modeling; familiarity with production qualification processes (IQ/OQ/PQ or equivalent) and supplier qualification documentation in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for procurement and supplier management workflows.

Education/Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain management—preferably in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of BOM risk analysis, second-source qualification, supplier onboarding, and performance management.
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts and conducting structured multi-supplier comparisons.
  • D365 or equivalent ERP/MRP experience preferred.
  • International sourcing experience, particularly with nearshore suppliers, strongly preferred.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering on design transfer, DFM review, or vendor qualification processes.

Additional Information:

  • Diverse portfolio of exciting and innovative design projects
  • Tremendous opportunities for professional growth
  • Commitment to sustainable design
  • Competitive compensation
  • Excellent benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, paid vacation time, paid sick time, disability insurance, 401k, tuition reimbursement and much more
