Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical within the Supply Chain organization to define and implement supplier development strategies. You will work with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement to mature suppliers into strategic partners for critical missions.

Responsibilities include assessing supplier capabilities, leading PPAP and reliability campaigns, driving containment and corrective actions, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 5+ years in a quality, reliability, supply chain, or engineering role.
• Strong understanding of quality standards and tools (ISO 9001, AS9100, PPAP).
• Experience managing vendors, suppliers, and strategic technical partners.
• Ability to travel up to 25-50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Assess supplier capabilities, technologies, and their ability to successfully execute manufacturing requirements.
• Lead PPAP, rate, and reliability campaigns to enable production.
• Lead containment actions and supplier corrective actions.
• Evaluate supplier quality performance and drive improvements with scorecards and audits.
• Provide program leadership inputs to ensure product quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Interface with engineering, production, and procurement to define production roadmaps aligned with goals.
