Job summary

Solventum is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead HIS product development teams, hire, set goals, mentor, and drive modernization of the tech stack. You will work with Product Owners and Business Leaders to deliver high-quality software for healthcare.

This remote role requires a BS in CS/IS, 5 years of software development, 3 years of leadership, and experience with AWS, Java, REST/SOAP, CI/CD, and Agile.

  • Five years of software development experience.
  • Three years of team leadership experience.

  • Provide direct technical supervision of one or more teams responsible for developing HIS products, including Developers and Quality Assurance.

  • Provide direct technical supervision of one or more teams responsible for developing 3M HIS products, including Developers and Quality Assurance. This includes hiring, establishing and tracking goals and objectives, assigning workload, training, and facilitating the performance review process.
  • Assist Technical Product Owner for a team working both to deliver HIS grouping content under the existing technology stack while simultaneously architecting and developing the replacement technology stack in a methodical manner.
  • Set technical direction and establish, prioritize and work with the development team to define and update the team’s backlog in concert with Tech Leads.
  • Mentor development staff with duties such as analysis, software design, prototyping, coding, debugging, test case creation, test case automation, test case execution, documentation, support, infrastructure maintenance.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams, coordinate and communicate with Product Owners, Business Leaders, Developers and others.
  • Champion Agile principles throughout the organization
  • Create an atmosphere of innovation and enable professional growth
  • Conflict / Change management ownership to ensure productivity

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in a Computer Science or Information Systems discipline from an accredited university Five (5) years of software development experience Three (3) year team leadership experience (supervisor, manager, team lead)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience with Generative AI, MCP, Agentic workflows
  • Experience with consuming Web services and web application development (SOAP/REST, Javascript/Angular)
  • Experience CI/CD
  • Experience with Java software development
  • Familiar with SQL and relational database design
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working with distributed team members
  • Ability to solve problems in a logical, methodical, and time efficient manner

The expected compensation range for this position is $143,200 - $196,900, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. Onboarding Requirement

To improve the onboarding experience, you will have an opportunity to meet with your manager and other new employees as part of the Solventum new employee orientation. As a result, new employees hired for this position will be required to travel to a designated company location for on-site onboarding during their initial days of employment. Travel arrangements and related expenses will be coordinated and paid for by the company in accordance with its travel policy. Applies to new hires with a start date of October 1st 2025 or later.
