This position is required to be on-site and is located in Loveland, CO.

Reporting to the Director, Retail, Proprietary Products Accounting, the Supervisor, Retail, Proprietary Products Accounting will have oversight of the general ledger accounting processes, performance analytics, and communication to our Proprietary Products business users and back-office personnel. The Sr Supervisor will have a strong aptitude for accounting theory and excellent communication skills both in interactions with all levels of management and in developing effective reporting solutions. This role is responsible for preparing reporting and information models to ensure review processes are effective, collaborating with system development teams to ensure financial data is captured appropriately and ensuring compliance with tax, audit, and reporting.



What you will do:



  • Oversee multiple finance processes and produce clear, impactful management reports for Senior Leadership and Proprietary Products Management.

  • Provide leadership and supervision to a dynamic accounting team, ensuring day-to-day activities are executed efficiently and effectively.

  • Use discretion and sound judgment to initiate, review, and approve team journal entries and financial reports, recommending opportunities for process efficiencies and automation.

  • Set team goals and objectives, provide direction, and guide team members through complex processes and procedures.

  • Foster strong working relationships with managers and staff and provide timely guidance to leadership on emerging accounting issues and recommend actionable solutions.

  • Lead initiatives to design, update, and modify accounting systems to achieve organizational goals.

  • Review, recommend, and implement best practices for accounting policies and procedures.

  • Promote and maintain an effective internal control environment, ensuring compliance with Nutrien's SOX requirements.

  • Attend project-related meetings and contribute to cross-functional team efforts, collaborating with IT, super users, and SMEs to resolve system issues and prioritize process improvements.



What you will bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.

  • 5+ years accounting experience with demonstrated progressive management and leadership is preferred.

  • Professional accounting designation or progress toward designation is preferred.

  • Strong team-building and customer service orientation with proven ability to influence others.

  • High energy, self-starter with demonstrated success in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities.

  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial troubleshooting skills.

  • Quick learner able to adapt processes to global standards and new systems.

  • Professional judgment and a results-oriented, innovative approach.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, able to work effectively with stakeholders, peers, and team members.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including financial modeling and data analysis.

  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP knowledge is an asset.



Compensation & Benefits:


Salary Range $79,100 - $146,800/annually. This range is estimated forSenior Supervisor, Retail Proprietary Products Accountingin Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
