In the Collins Engineering Laboratory, you'll play a key role in testing and developing products for real-world challenges, across areas like Electric, Environmental & Engine Systems, Propulsion, and Space Systems. As an Engineering Labs Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of Technicians who build and operate labs that simulate the environments our products will face in everyday use.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a team of unionized hourly Lab Technicians

  • Interface between our Engineering customers and Laboratory Engineering staff

  • Determine work schedule, job assignment, allocations of manpower and equipment based on program priority

  • Clearly and effectively communicate vision, direction, goals, and expectations

  • Establish standards and expectations for work efforts and performance of direct reports

  • Effectively motivate, coach, discipline, and reward associates; manage and resolve conflict

  • Take a lead role in driving performance metrics: Delivery, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Financial, and EH&S

  • Perform administrative function associates with Hourly Bargaining Unit employees, including timekeeping, overtime, training, and performance feedback

  • Model and promote Environmental Health & Safety policies and goals. Ensure EH&S compliance

  • Responsible for Calibration and Preventative Maintenance programs

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiarity with AS9100 Aerospace Quality System

  • Experience with calibration, metrology, and electronic test equipment

  • Supervisory and quality engineering experience

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships across business units

  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing multiple projects at once

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
