Job summary

CyberCoders invites a Senior Superintendent for Wastewater Treatment Plant projects in Dayton, Ohio. Direct construction, commissioning and startup of WWTP facilities, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, regulatory compliance and conformance to drawings and specs.

You will lead on-site crews, coordinate subcontractors and regulators, manage budgets and schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, and drive QA/QC and turnover packages through to owner acceptance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Management or related engineering field; equivalent construction experience considered.
• Minimum 10 years of heavy civil or water/wastewater construction experience with at least 5 years in a senior superintendent or lead field role on WWTP projects.
• Technical knowledge of wastewater collection and treatment processes, water treatment, pump station construction and commissioning, and pipeline installation methods.
• Proficiency with trenchless technologies (HDD, pipe bursting), dewatering/bypass pumping, erosion and sediment control, dredging, riprap and bank stabilization, and levee/canal construction.
• Experience with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), construction management, budgeting and cost control, change order management, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with HECRAS, HECHMS, EPA SWMM, SCADA/telemetry systems, GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and instrumentation used for water quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of permitting and regulatory frameworks including Clean Water Act 404/401, NPDES/SWPPP, NEPA/CEQA coordination, and local permit processes.
• Working knowledge of materials standards (AASHTO, ASTM), common pipe materials (HDPE, PVC, ductile iron), manhole/structure construction, valves and hydraulic installations.
• Certifications preferred: PE license or professional registration, PMP or CCM; OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30; confined space entry and other site safety certifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder and agency liaison skills; proven ability to manage subcontractors, resolve field issues, and drive teams to meet quality and schedule goals.
• Ability to read and interpret geotechnical reports, shop drawings, and technical specifications; competency in QA/QC inspection and materials testing oversight.
• Willingness to work on active construction sites, travel between project locations, and support extended hours during critical construction and commissioning phases.

Responsibilities

• Provide daytoday onsite leadership and supervision for WWTP construction, commissioning, and startup activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Manage construction of pump stations, treatment process tanks, clarifiers, tertiary systems, and associated mechanical and electrical systems; lead commissioning and startup efforts.
• Oversee wastewater and water pipeline installation using open cut and trenchless methods (HDD, pipe bursting), including manhole and structure construction, valve and hydraulic installations, and rehabilitation/lining operations.
• Plan, direct and monitor earthworks, grading, soil compaction, riprap/bank stabilization, levee and canal works, dredging operations, erosion and sediment control, and site dewatering/bypass pumping.
• Coordinate heavy equipment operations (dozers, excavators, cranes), material deliveries, site layout and surveying activities; enforce confined space and heavy equipment safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project; coordinate sequencing, temporary works, and critical path activities to meet milestones.
• Prepare and control project budgets, track costs, manage change orders, and support contract administration and procurement activities.
• Implement QA/QC inspection programs and materials testing (ASTM, AASHTO), review geotechnical investigation findings, and ensure construction conforms to drawings and specifications.
• Manage permitting compliance (Clean Water Act 404/401, NPDES/SWPPP, local permits) and coordinate NEPA/CEQA, agency inspections, and stakeholder liaison throughout construction and commissioning.
• Lead installation, testing and integration of SCADA/telemetry, instrumentation, and water quality monitoring/sampling systems during commissioning.
• Supervise subcontractor performance, resource allocation, workforce development, and onsite training; promote a culture of safety (OSHA compliance, confined space, OSHA 10/30) and continuous improvement.
• Document site activities, produce progress reports, maintain asbuilt records, oversee punchlists and turnover packages for owner acceptance.
