Role Overview

Mainframe Solutions is partnering with a growing Houston based heavy civil contractor seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee roadway, bridge, drainage, underground utility, and infrastructure construction projects throughout the Greater Houston area.

The company specializes in public and private civil construction, with projects involving TxDOT, municipalities, counties, and other infrastructure owners. Its work includes roadway reconstruction, concrete and asphalt paving, earthwork, bridge structures, underground utilities, and site development.

The ideal candidate is a hands on field leader with extensive experience managing heavy civil projects, coordinating multiple crews, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This opportunity offers the potential to take on broader General Superintendent responsibilities depending on experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Compensation ranges from $120,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on experience and leadership qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations for roadway, bridge, drainage, paving, and heavy civil construction projects throughout Houston and surrounding communities
• Supervise foremen, equipment operators, field crews, subcontractors, and other construction personnel
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain efficient production across active projects
• Oversee roadway construction activities, including excavation, grading, subgrade preparation, concrete paving, asphalt paving, drainage, and underground utilities
• Manage project schedules, coordinate construction sequencing, and proactively resolve field challenges that could affect production or completion dates
• Monitor daily production quantities, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and field costs to support project profitability
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, and owners to ensure construction activities align with approved plans and specifications
• Maintain compliance with TxDOT, municipal, county, OSHA, and project specific safety and quality requirements
• Oversee subcontractor performance, material deliveries, inspections, and construction documentation
• Support project planning, budget management, change orders, and resource allocation
• Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, field documentation, and progress updates
• Mentor foremen and field supervisors while promoting accountability, communication, and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• 8 to 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, including significant field supervisory responsibility
• Strong experience managing roadway, bridge, drainage, concrete paving, asphalt paving, and/or underground utility projects
• Proven experience overseeing TxDOT, municipal, county, or other public infrastructure construction projects
• Ability to manage multiple crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources simultaneously
• Strong understanding of roadway construction methods, earthwork operations, utility installation, and paving production
• Experience managing construction schedules, production targets, labor resources, and project budgets
• Ability to interpret civil construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
• Strong leadership, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with construction management software, daily reporting systems, and Microsoft Office
• Valid driver's license required
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Experience overseeing multiple active projects or leading other Superintendents is highly desirable
