We’re Hiring: Senior Superintendent

The Senior Superintendent for GMi is responsible for managing the overall day-to-day functions of the field team(s) and projects assigned. This integral position is responsible for managing all aspects of the assigned projects, training the General/Jobsite Superintendent assigned to the projects, and customer relations on the projects assigned. This is a multi-functional position that requires the following skills & knowledge: jobsite management, workforce management, general management of others, strong leadership ability, ability to coach/teach, excellent communication skills, knowledge of GMi operational procedures, problem‑solving capabilities, and time management.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and audit company-wide safety initiatives across assigned projects, ensuring full compliance with GMI safety standards and site-specific requirements.
  • Partner with the Safety Director and project leadership to proactively prevent incidents, conduct audits, oversee training certifications, and drive a culture of accountability.
  • Oversee and enforce the Quality Control Program, ensuring all installations meet contract documents, specifications, and GMI standards.
  • Conduct routine audits of Superintendents and Foremen to verify safety, quality, documentation, and production performance.
  • Drive project success from turnover through completion — initiating kick‑off meetings, aligning field leadership with budgets, scope, sequencing, manpower plans, and production goals.
  • Monitor and audit project budgets, percent‑complete tracking, unit costs, labor efficiency, and material usage to protect profitability.
  • Lead manpower planning efforts, including hiring approvals, labor rate alignment, workforce performance audits, and supervision coverage.
  • Build and assign high‑performing project teams in collaboration with Project Managers and executive leadership.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule through proper sequencing, pull planning, and proactive identification of delays or inefficiencies.
  • Maintain full oversight of personnel, equipment, subcontractors, vendors, and documentation for assigned projects.
  • Conduct payroll audits and enforce proper time coding and labor accountability.
  • Mentor and develop Superintendents and field leaders to elevate production, quality, and leadership standards.
  • Build strong, credible relationships with General Contractors to support repeat business and long‑term partnerships.
  • Review monthly performance trends and take decisive action to improve safety, production, and profitability.
What We’re Looking For
  • Effective understanding and implementation of construction safety, including OSHA and other regulations, with a strong history of safety excellence.
  • Must have or be enrolled in OSHA 30 hour.
  • Team player capable of leading and managing an assigned team and working with other teams within GMi.
  • Strong decision‑making ability given complex operating, administrative, and procedural decisions with the ability to diagnose and quickly solve issues on the fly.
  • Strong experience in the construction field specifically the drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and exterior cladding trades.
  • Effective communication capabilities, both written and verbal, with the ability to follow through on documentation.
  • Knowledge of architectural design, planning principles, and procedures with technical knowledge of building components and their function.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of the operating practices of construction, architectural, and building firms, including the understanding of federal, state, and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of construction contract documents and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction budgeting, specifically able to work with GMi’s budgeting procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills including defining, acquiring, deploying, and managing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to perform site inspections and/or approve installations.
  • Skill in the use of computers, specifically with a PC, Windows-based operating, e‑mail, Excel, and Word.
  • Effective management and leadership experience as it pertains to managing multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of all GMi protocols and be diligent in maintaining the standard and improving upon it.
