Job summary

Balfour Beatty Construction in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for our Special Projects Group. You will coordinate subcontractors, oversee all field activities, and ensure safety and Zero Harm on the job site while managing self-performed work.

You will partner with the Project Manager to develop the project budget, monitor schedule, and ensure work is completed on time and within company policies. Mentoring junior staff is also expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 15+ years of commercial construction field experience.
• 5+ years of direct supervisory experience related to subcontractor management.
• Previous or current commercial construction experience in a Superintendent role required.
• Experience with interiors, tenant improvements and related work.
• Ability to read plans and specs.
• Scheduling experience sequence using software application.

Summary

Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to work for our Special Projects Group in Houston, TX.

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for all field operations, including the coordination of subcontractors’ work. This individual is responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including ultimate responsibility for implementation of the Safety/Zero Harm program for the job site, supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors and self-performed work. The Senior Superintendent shares responsibility with the Project Manager for developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. This individual also manages and mentors Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fifteen years or more of commercial construction field experience.
• Five years or more of direct supervisory experience related to subcontractor management.
• Previous or current commercial construction experience in a Superintendent role required.
• Experience with interiors, tenant improvements and related work.
• Proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, the internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
• Ability to read plans and specs.
• Scheduling experience sequence using software application.
