Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fifteen years or more of commercial construction field experience.
• Five years or more of direct supervisory experience related to subcontractor management.
• Previous or current commercial construction experience in a Superintendent role.
• Experience with interiors, tenant improvements and related work.
• Proficiency using a PC and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read plans and specs.
• Scheduling experience using software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all field operations and coordinate subcontractors’ work.
• Implement and enforce the Safety/Zero Harm program on site.
• Partner with Project Manager to develop the project budget and schedule.
• Supervise field personnel and mentor Assistant Superintendents.
• Ensure project is built on time, within budget, and per policies and procedures.
• Promote customer relations and team development.

Summary

Balfour Beatty Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to work for our Special Projects Group in Houston, TX.

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for all field operations, including the coordination of subcontractors’ work. This individual is responsible for all field activities associated with the project, including ultimate responsibility for implementation of the Safety/Zero Harm program for the job site, supervision of all field construction work by subcontractors and self-performed work. The Senior Superintendent shares responsibility with the Project Manager for developing the project budget, actively participating in the preconstruction phase, and ensuring that the project is built on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. This individual also manages and mentors Assistant Superintendents and other field personnel.
