Job summary

SR400 Constructors seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead heavy civil projects in Georgia. You will plan methods, resources and schedules, ensure compliance with contract drawings, and guide field teams to execution excellence.

Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors and vendors; forecast risks; manage budgets and safety programs to keep multiple sites on time for the SR400 Express Lanes project with GDOT oversight.

Strong leadership and 10+ years’ experience required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in heavy civil construction and project delivery.
  • 7+ years in construction management role, leading teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; STS certification and driver’s license valued.

Responsibilities

  • Plan methods, resources and schedules for assigned project work and review with reports.
  • Ensure compliance with contract drawings and project specs with field teams and utility coordination.
  • Coordinate with internal equipment teams and external vendors to meet budget and schedule.
  • Forecast risks and provide scheduling recommendations to mitigate issues.
  • Provide input on construction methods, work plans and safety and schedule activities; document daily activities.
  • Enforce safety programs and process controls on-site; promote safe work practices.
  • Supervise subcontractor production and workforce; adjust work methods as needed.

Job description

Are you an experienced leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality results. As a Senior Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our construction projects. Your expertise in scheduling, coordinating, and supervising production and workforce will ensure that every task is executed seamlessly and efficiently. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to ensure project compliance with contract drawings and specifications. The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Plan work methods, materials, equipment needs and work schedule for assigned project work. Reviews daily work schedule with direct reports and updates monthly schedule from project feedback.
  • Reviewsand understands the project specifications to support job set up activities. Works with work crews, field engineers and local utility companies to identify hazardous areas on job site. Working with multiple job sites and multiple project plans, when necessary.
  • Coordinate with internal equipment team and external vendors to ensure that project work is equipped with appropriate equipment and material quantities to complete production within assigned budget and schedule.
  • Forecast the work schedule to identify possible issues and provides technical or scheduling recommendations to mitigate production issues.
  • Provide technical input to identify and resolve project risks including construction methods, work plan and material requirements, safety and schedule activities. Documents daily activities and meeting notes using Company approved document methods.
  • Support and promotes strict adherence to safety and process controls regarding operating equipment, worksite safety and documentation requirements.
  • Supervise sub-contractor production and workforce regarding assigned project work. Recommends work schedule or work method adjustments regarding sub-contractor activities, as needed.
What We Are Looking For
  • 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience required.
  • 7+ years construction management experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree a plus.
  • Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills required.
  • Strong leadership capability with internal drive to mentor and grow internal talent.
  • Proven ability to manage difficult schedules and project demands while maintaining strict adherence to project safety program.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction site safety protocols and proven ability to enforce project safety programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards and contract specific plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, and fundamentals geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
