Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking a Project Technical Engineering Specialist Professional to lead Secondary Engineering activities for AIS and GIS substations from design through commissioning.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver protection philosophies, communication architectures, and detailed schematics while ensuring high-quality project execution and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years in electromechanical engineering.
• Experience with protection single-line diagrams and protection philosophies.
• Familiarity with substation automation, NERC/NEC/IEEE standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Manage Secondary Engineering activities across AIS and GIS projects (69kV–765kV).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Develop protection scope documents and design packages.
• Serve as primary technical contact for Secondary Engineering.
• Create detailed engineering documents including protection diagrams and architectures.
• Support installation and commissioning teams during construction and commissioning phases.
• Evaluate project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Promote continuous improvement and cost-effective technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
