Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Substation Physical Engineer to lead the design and development of high-voltage substation projects (69kV to 500kV). The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong understanding of substation physical design, layout, and equipment specifications. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for utility and energy clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the physical design of high-voltage substations including general arrangements, equipment layouts, grounding, conduit, and cable plans.
• Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for substation physical systems.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, and SCADA teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Perform site visits and field investigations to support design and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NESC, NEC), utility requirements, and safety regulations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers.
• Support project management with scope, schedule, and budget planning.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in substation physical design engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and substation design tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, ETAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment (transformers, breakers, disconnects, buswork, etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
