Job summary
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is seeking a Senior Power Systems Consulting Engineer to support critical electrical infrastructure worldwide. The role focuses on mentoring staff and acting as a technical expert in SEL equipment and solutions across power systems and substations.
You will research new approaches, review scopes and budgets, and lead projects from design through commissioning while promoting safe, compliant practices. Open locations nationwide and travel about 25% of the time.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or applicable discipline.
- 8+ years working knowledge and experience of electric power systems or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge in Power Systems Consulting and Substations; strong technical training.
- Willing to travel a minimum of 25% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Mentor engineers, specialists, and technicians.
- Serve as technical expert in design and application of SEL equipment and solutions.
- Research, innovate, and develop new solutions and processes.
- Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules at high quality.
- Project manage, develop processes, and lead training for customers from design to operation.
