Job summary

IDOM USA is seeking a licensed professional engineer to lead substation and low-voltage power systems design for a landmark high-speed rail program in California. You will own detailed design tasks, review studies, coordinate interfaces with traction power and utility interconnections, and mentor junior engineers.

A California PE license and 8+ years in substations or power systems are required. Hybrid work with site travel and relocation support may be available to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of substations/power systems design experience.
• Strong command of NEC/NESC/IEEE/NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design of substation LV systems and equipment.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection).
• Coordinate interfaces with 25 kV traction, utilities, and Power SCADA.
• Seal deliverables as a licensed PE and support submittals.
• Review vendor/submittals and support construction, testing, commissioning.
• Mentor junior engineers as team grows.
