Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Substation Technical Specialist in California. You will perform engineering tasks under a licensed engineer, create designs for low to high voltage substations, and develop drawings, diagrams and SCADA schemes.

You will collaborate with CAD Drafters and other disciplines, review designs, and contribute to deliverables while upholding HDR's employee-owned culture and commitment to power infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 15+ years of engineering experience in the supported discipline.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments under supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Design tasks evaluating engineering techniques and procedures.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, analyses and substation designs.
• Develop deliverables: one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes.
• Coordinate design with other disciplines and review work of CAD Drafters.
• Contribute to design feasibility and project requirements.
