Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a D403 Systems Engineer to provide technical guidance and oversight for LTD products and ship systems manuals. The role leads a writing group, coordinating with EB engineering and Navy customers to ensure accuracy and quality for submarine operations.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Engineering or Nuclear Power School, submarine qualifications at SS LT or higher, and 5+ years in relevant submarine ship systems experience, enabling effective leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or completion of Nuclear Power School.
• 5+ years operating, maintaining, or documenting submarine ship systems.
• Submarine qualification at SS LT or above or SS CPO or above.

Responsibilities

• Provide Technical Guidance, oversight, and coordination for LTD development.
• Ensure quality of technical manuals in accordance with procedures.
• Facilitate resolution of internal and external comments on LTD products.
• Interface with EB Engineering disciplines, shipyard organizations, vendors, and Navy customers.
• Attend kickoff meetings, evaluate designs, and estimate man-hours for updates.
• Determine priorities, develop schedules, and manage workload with supervision.
• Recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate.
