Amentum in Portsmouth, VA seeks a Senior Submarine Industrial Support Specialist to bridge technical planning and deckplate execution, ensuring the fleet remains mission-ready.

You will oversee submarine modernization projects, manage schedules, audit work, and prepare LARs/DFS while coordinating with Government OSIC and AIT teams. This role requires an active Secret clearance and extensive hands-on experience in deckplate activities, with strong reporting and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Active Secret US Government Clearance required.
• High School Diploma/GED with 10 years experience or degree/formal training with 6 years experience.
• Experience conducting deckplate audits and surveillances; documenting findings.
• Development of LAR and DFS.
• Strong work controls background and change management experience.
• Preparation of SHIPALT/ECI WAFs and tagging.
• Project schedule management and progress tracking.
• Experience coordinating with the Alteration Installation Team (AIT).

Your Impact

• Drive Project Success: Manage schedules, track progress, and lead "hotwash" events for vital programs like SWFTS.
• Master the Deckplate: Prepare WAFs and SHIPALTs, audit ongoing work, and troubleshoot technical hurdles in real-time.
• Solve Complex Problems: Author LARs and DFS documents, interpreting complex drawings to keep installations on track.
• Lead Communication: Be the voice of technical progress, providing weekly updates and expert reports that keep all stakeholders informed

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance: Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Clearance.)
• Education/Experience: High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of practical experience OR degree/formal training and six (6) years experience. (Degree/Formal Training is defined as: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four-year electronics apprentice program.)
• Conducting deckplate audits and surveillances and document findings.
• Development of Liaison Action Record (LAR) and Departure From Specification (DFS).
• Possess a strong work controls background.
• Preparation of SHIPALT / ECI WAFs and tags, etc. experience.
• Project schedule management experience.
• Identification and tracking of planned vs. actual progress experience.
• Identification of problem or weak areas with the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) experience.
• Identification and interpretation of drawing issues experience.
• Experience working with the AIT to ensure deck plate work sequencing is being properly executed (i.e. right personnel working in the right areas).
• Providing written inputs to the Government On-Site Installation Coordinator (OSIC) experience.
• Participation in Planning and Hotwash events to support MIWG and TI-NEXT experience.
• Attendance of LMA meetings, as directed by the OSIC experience.
• Trip and weekly status report preparation experience.
• Technical reports (for drawing issues, LAR submissions, etc.) preparation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Submarine Combat Systems Modernization, WAF and Tagout generation, and modernization work controls experience.

Compensation Details:

$42.50
