Job summary

MidPoint Technology Group seeks a DCS Estimator to support data center projects from our Columbia, MD office with occasional NoVA site visits. You will perform site walks, create BoMs, labor estimates, and SOW documentation, ensuring accuracy for RFPs and scope reviews.

This role supports sales with technical analysis and project cost planning. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data center environments, strong MS Office skills, and proven ability to read plans and develop cost estimates for

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data center environments preferred.
• College degree or AA preferred.
• Excellent PC skills, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledgeable in delivering data center installation projects.

Responsibilities

• Technical advisor for sales team and clients.
• Conduct client needs analyses.
• Generate detailed and accurate Bill of Materials (BoM).
• Generate detailed labor estimates.
• Generate detailed statements of work (SOW) for Data Center RFPs.
• Generate accurate project assumptions, terms & conditions, and exclusions for RFPs.
• Review all RFP documentation and generate RFIs as needed.
• Design Data Center solutions based on core product offerings and capabilities.
• Provide technical support for account executives and attend scope reviews.
• Attend pre-bid meetings.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings to transfer information to operations.

We are a technical services company providing integration of system solutions to include Audio-Visual, Electronic Security, Structured Cabling and IT-Wireless Services.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a DCS Estimator to support existing and upcoming work in Northern Virginia. The estimator is responsible for site walks and generation of BoMs, Labor Estimates, and SOW documentation. This role will be based out of our office in Columbia, and will require site visits to NoVA a few times per month. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities:

• Technical advisor for our sales team and clients
• Conduct client needs analyses
• Generate detailed and accurate Bill of Materials (PNL)
• Generate detailed and accurate labor estimates (PNL)
• Generate detailed statements of work (SOW) for Data Center RFP’s
• Generate accurate project assumptions, terms & conditions, and exclusions for RFP’s
• Review all RFP documentation pertaining to our division and generate RFI’s as needed
• Design functional Data Center solutions based on our core product offerings and core technical abilities
• Provide technical support for account executives and attend scope reviews
• Attend pre-bid meetings
• Conduct project kickoff meetings to transfer project information to the operations team

Job Skills:

• Ability to create, read, and understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams
• Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Report writing and strategic planning skills
• Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
• Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
• Exceptional time management skills
• Strong computer, organizational, communication, and trouble shooting skills
• Strong knowledge of proper rack fabrication & cable terminations
• Experience using Microsoft Office software tools, such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word, to be utilized in managing and reporting estimate throughput, status, and labor allocation
• Self-motivated, multitasking skills

Job Requirements:
