Austal USA is seeking an experienced welder to produce high-quality fillet welds on aluminum and steel structures. You may mentor less-skilled welders and must work with urgency and precision to meet project specifications.

The role requires passing A Class qualification tests, reading construction drawings, and maintaining strict safety standards. The job entails shifts/overtime as needed and adherence to Austal USA policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year as a B-Class Welder or 2 years of GMAW MIG aluminum welding experience.
• 2 years FCAW/GMAW steel welding experience at a comparable employer.
• Ability to pass A Class skills evaluation for full penetration joint details and gouging processes.
• Ability to complete onboarding for AL CV weld qualification requirements to meet A Class welding on vessels.

Responsabilités

• Weld aluminum and/or steel configurations in compliance with Austal USA standards and project specs.
• Instruct and mentor less-skilled welders as assigned.
• Maintain safe work practices and adhere to safety policies.
