Job summary

Acuren is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welding and Bolting Inspector for our St. Louis Park, MN office.

The role requires independence and the ability to perform inspections at fabrication shops and construction sites to ensure conformance with codes and project specifications. Candidates must hold ICC Specialist Inspector Certification for Structural Steel, Welding and Bolting and an AWS/CWI, with 5 years of NDT experience and proven report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some college experience preferred.
• ICC Specialist Inspector Certification for Structural Steel, Welding and Bolting is required/current.
• AWS/CWI certification is required/current.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in NDT methods and procedures.
• Certified Level II with proof of NDT training and MT/PT/UT experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
• Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods.
• Establish examination techniques and ensure safety compliance.
• Apply testing criteria per specifications and evaluate results.
• Interpret radiographs, CRTs or digital readouts and conductivity meters.
• Organize and report test results.
• Perform specialized inspections.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
