Job summary

MK Consulting Group in Irving, TX seeks a Structural Steel Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and closeout of steel construction projects. This role ensures on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with specifications across engineering, fabrication, erection, and field operations.

Responsibilities include scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, change management, risk mitigation, and quality control.

Qualifications

Significant experience in project management, particularly in structural steel construction.
Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
Ability to lead and motivate project teams.
Ability to manage project budgets and track costs.
Familiarity with MS Project and related software applications.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
Manage project teams including engineers, fabricators, erectors, and subcontractors.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and stakeholders.
Ensure materials, labor, and equipment costs are included in estimates.
Monitor changes in scope, cost, and schedule and manage change orders.
Ensure quality and safety standards are met.
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders.
Select and manage subcontractors and coordinate their activities.
Maintain project documentation including shop and field drawings.
Oversee closeout: inspections, punch lists, final payments.
