Job summary

Mid South Steel is seeking a Professional Structural Steel Engineer to lead design and analysis of steel frameworks for diverse construction projects. You will collaborate with architects and engineers, perform site assessments, and prepare comprehensive calculations and documentation.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years in structural steel, and proficiency in RISA 3D, RISA Connect, and RAM Connection. Mentorship of junior staff and timely delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE license required; willingness to acquire additional state licenses.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel engineering.
• Proficient in structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, RISA Connect, RAM Connection.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural steel frameworks and components for various construction projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and codes.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop innovative structural solutions.
• Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project requirements and conditions.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Review and approve shop drawings and specifications from fabricators.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and interns on best practices and engineering principles.
