Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Structural Project Manager to join our Austin, TX structural engineering team. The role oversees project schedules and budgets, coordinates with design professionals, and mentors Project Engineers and Interns through various project phases.

You will ensure compliance with building codes and coordinate with architects, general contractors, and clients to deliver projects from conception through construction administration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in building structural design
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the U.S.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes (IBC, ASCE7, AISC360, ACI318)
• Experience supervising Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Interns
• Proficiency with structural design software tools (RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, SAFE, PROFIS)

Responsibilities

• Provide primary point of contact for Principals and design team; attend meetings with Architect/GC
• Manage project schedule, activities, and budget
• Coordinate with Structural Director on client accounts and continuity of service
• Identify scope changes and notify client; summarize status and manage additional services
• Coordinate with technical staff to ensure standard drawings/templates used across projects
• Review drawings, calculations, and ensure codes/compliance; adjust packages as needed
• Manage construction administration tasks including submittals, RFIs, and testing reports
• Supervise and develop tasks for Project Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Interns
