Job summary

VHB is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer/Project Manager to lead bridge and transportation projects and mentor staff.

This hybrid role offers flexible location and collaboration with owners, architects, and contractors, focusing on constructability, resilience, and sustainability.

Requirements: 11–15 years' experience, PE license, BS in Civil Engineering (structural) with master’s preferred; U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• 11-15 years of experience in structural engineering for bridges/transportation.
• PE license required.
• Experience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with practice standards including AASHTO & MassDOT or other DOTs.
• Independent experience developing bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete), and seismic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manages, develops, organizes, and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for bridge/ transportation projects
• Prepares proposals and/or contracts; Participates in project decisions regarding technical approach, costs, and scheduling
• Responsible for client relationships, visibility, and business development
• Directs and mentors team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc.
• Project management/task management
• Reviews plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements
