Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join our structural engineering team at our headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves leading the structural design of Water, Wastewater, Water Resources, and Industrial Treatment structures and facilities. The engineer will coordinate with a multidisciplinary team throughout project phases—from planning to construction documents and administration. Responsibilities include developing construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and reviewing shop drawings during construction.

This leadership role is within our Building Engineering Services team, offering collaboration opportunities across various market sectors. The candidate should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills, with experience in designing water structures using ACI 350 standards. The role involves working closely with process engineers and other disciplines from project conception through construction.

Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, providing structural engineering leadership, and potentially acting as Engineer of Record, Lead Engineer, or Project Engineer on critical projects. There may also be opportunities to serve as Project Manager or Design Manager on key projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience in Water, Wastewater, Industrial, or Water Resources sectors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil (with emphasis on structural engineering) or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Steel, Concrete, Masonry analysis and design.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Proficiency in structural modeling software such as STAAD, SAFE, PCA, RAM Structural System, or similar.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or MSCE Degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Licensed Structural Engineer.
  • Experience with condition assessment and concrete repair.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
