Responsibilities

  • Assist in directing and coordinating engineering projects.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Plan and organize project staff according to needs.
  • Perform analysis and design of structural systems for various buildings and materials.
  • Manage design team members and supervise engineers and draftsmen.
  • Prepare contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

The Role

We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Structural Practice in Tampa, Florida. Candidates for the Structural Engineer position should have experience in medium to large-size projects such as government buildings, sports facilities, healthcare facilities, commercial and mission critical buildings, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Plan and formulate engineering program and organize project staff according to project requirements.
  • Perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various building codes.
  • Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and draft persons.
  • Direct project staff in preparing contract documents, such as drawings and specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 6+ years of experience of delivering complex technical design projects.
  • Professional Engineer and/or SE License.
